Being part of one of the PCHS show choirs takes a lot of hard work and practice. There are no requirements on how many students can be in one of these groups, but each group contains, on average, from thirty to sixty individuals. There are two main show choirs at PCHS: Noteables and Intuition. Intuition is an all-girls group, whereas Noteables contains both males and females.

What they wear can also range from everyday clothes to extravagant costumes. Sophomore Sydney Maston said, ”Besides the singing, I love to dress up and our outfits are fun.”

Senior Cody Milsteadt, a member of Noteables, said, ”It is a lot of fun, and the girls make it interesting, and I really enjoy it.”

Show choir usually has a band that they sing along with, but the band is not seen during the performance. However, the band is definitely heard and is an important part of the choirs performance.

The PCHS show choirs went to Keokuk, Iowa recently to perform against choirs from other schools. Intuition received second place in large group prep, and the Noteables were the Grand Champions, taking home eight out of nine awards.

Junior Jessica Eads said, “It was really exciting to win and also receive all those awards.” Our Pekin show choirs are doing well and look to continue. They will be competing in another competition over the weekend.
